CockNBullKid - Hold On To Your Misery (UK)

Those of us in the musical know have had CockNBullKid on our radars for a couple of years now. It seems that she's been on the verge of big things for quite some time and 2011 could finally be her year. CockNBullKid (real name Anita Blay) is set to release her debut album and boy are we ever anticipating it! She's part of the cadre of young, black female talent on both sides of the Atlantic who are refusing to be pigeon-holed and choose instead to experiment with genres.

Parade - Louder (UK)

What's this? Another girl band from Britain attempting to score a hit on the charts? Why yes, yes indeed. It's a pretty catchy single that I could imagine getting a lot of play. Louder is out on March 6th across the pond.

The Little Stevies - Feel It (AUS)

The Little Stevies are a folk-pop band that come to us from the city of Melbourne. Sisters Bethany & Sibylla along with their friend Robin make quirky acoustic tracks with great lyrics and catchy melodies. Their sophomore album will be released sometime in the first half of the year followed by a tour of North America. Check 'em out!

Ellie Goulding - Lights

Ellie Goulding - Lights from sergey berlin on Vimeo.
This time last year, Ellie Goulding was debuting her video for Starry Eyed and preparing to accept her Critic Choice Award at The Brits. Her debut album has since gone platinum, she's scored four top 40 hits and last fall I had the pleasure of seeing her live in concert in New York City. Lights is the next single for Ellie off her Bright Lights EP and will be released later in the winter.

Neverest - About Us (CAN)

I always enjoy featuring Canadian artists, because even though they are my neighbors to the North and are so culturally similar, Americans like myself get few opportunities to hear their music. Well then, here's Neverest. They're four guys from Ontario who are currently moving up the top 40 chart in Canada with their debut single About Us. It's a rousing pop-rock tune that could definitely be a hit in the States and elsewhere if given a chance.
